Renungan Harian, Friday 11 Aug’17 – He is our strength

First reading: Hosea 2:16, 17, 21-22
Psalm: Psalms 45:11-12, 14-16
Gospel reading: John 15:4-10
John 15:4-10,

4Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. 5I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in me, and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. 6If a man does not abide in me, he is cast forth as a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire and burned. 7If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you.8By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be my disciples.9As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you; abide in my love. 10If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love.
Jesus says, “8By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be my disciples.”
We are not meant to exist without having any use. We are meant to bear much fruit, to be a blessing, to be useful for others, to glorify His name.
But we can’t give what we do not have.
We need to draw strength from the source of life if we want ourlives to be fruitful.
He is the source of love, kindness, forgiveness, etc.
He is over flowing with goodness and ready to give what we need to grow and be fruitful.
We just need to stay attached to Him and people will be able to see that He is in us.
Take a step to be nearer to Him and get to know Him today, open the bible, pray, seek Him before you start your day. Invite His Holy Spirit to guide us and bless our days.
May His name be glorified in us. Amen.
